#6 – 2913 – George Hardcourt

It was a last minute trip to the George Hardcourt at Gold Creek which saw us kick in pub#6 with a few pints.  The pub is very relaxing for those who have every ventured into a old English pub, and the staff are very friendly.  They tell me they are remodelling soon with some extensions.  I hope they don’t loose that small pub atmosphere.

#5 – 2540 Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay was always going to be a big commitment on our pub list.  So with the warmth of summer coming to an end, we knew that Jervis was only going to get harder if we couldn’t swim.  So out came the Kayaks and off to the coast we go.

As you can see we had to bring our own beverages along, but for those interested there is a good looking pub at the near by town of Huskisson.  For those not able to carry a Kayak, I recommend Jervis Bay Kayaks for all your hire and tour needs.

Our Kayak route took us around the bay and then into the river for a quick trip before we needed to take back a hire kayak.  Certainly the river is worth further adventure, and I think following the route planned by Ecaspology is definitely a good start.

Planned 2540 – Jervis Bay

Yep, that rights its time to drink at that elusive slice of the ACT, Jervis Bay.

With the last days of warm weather passing us by, its time to suit up!  Bathing suit that is.  The kayaks are ready, the esky is packed and this Saturday 10th April we are heading to the coast to tick off 2540.

#4 – 2900 Canberra Roller Derby

There is only one word to describe roller derby….. “AWESOMENESS”

The Canberra Roller Derby run from the Tuggeranong Basketball Centre is an unlikely event in Canberra, but is supported by a sell out crowd every bout.  So what a perfect way to tick off our first South side beverage.

It was a thrilling bout with a massive comeback in the second half by the Surly Griffins to take the bout from the Black and Blue Bells. I have seen a remarkable increase in the skill and the hits of the girls from last year and some insane speed skating by Dr Hell kept everyone entertained.  As always Bambi was a crowd (and my) favourite.

#3 – 2602 Wilbur’s Hackett

It was a last minute event of Friday night.  We were all set to go for a nice ride around Watson, Hackett and Mt Majura trails.  Due to a late start we accidently road to Hackett shops and had beer and pizza at Wilbur’s before a slow ride home.

Wilbur’s is a relatively new (or at least for me) establishment at the Hackett shops near the IGA.  I am now addicted and have been there 3 times this week.  It also has Blue Tongue Lager on tap.  I can see this being a bit hit with the Canberra mountain bike crowd after a run through Majura Pines.

2612 – Debarcle Braddon

It was wet and raining and the best place to be was a Pub.  Debacle has an extensive beverage list including one of my favourites, Bulmers cider on tap.  YUM!   Great outdoor area, friendly staff and of course great beverages.
